← Back
CALSTART members are invited to participate in two unusual opportunities coming up in Southern California on Monday, December 8 and Tuesday, December 9. A New Era for Clean Transportation:  Pathways for Clean Technologies is the focus of CALSTART’s 2014 Annual Meeting and Blue Sky Awards Luncheon on December 9. The day before that, members who have registered and paid for the Annual Meeting are invited to join CALSTART at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) in Pasadena for expert presentations and JPL tours.
CALSTART’s Annual Meeting assembles a rich network of stakeholders for a one-day focus on what it will take for the advanced vehicle technology industry to scale products to the degree that will transform the clean transportation market for good. Policy and technology experts from around the country will gather to strategize, as well as to honor our 2014 Blue Sky Award winners. Confirmed speakers include Dr. Cheryl Martin, Acting Director of DOE’s ARPA-E, Chris Grundler, Director of EPA’s Office of Transportation and Air Quality, and Jerry Hirsch, Automotive Business Writer for the Los Angeles Times.
Members who register for the Annual Meeting are also invited to attend an unusual half-day December 8. The day will kick off at 1:00 p.m. with a panel of experts from JPL, a world leader in robotic space exploration, as well as CALSTART members who will connect space exploration technology to transportation. Participants will be shuttled to several laboratories on the JPL campus including battery, industrial, satellite communications, and the Mars Yard, a simulated Martian landscape to test different robotic prototypes. The day will conclude with a networking reception at the JPL Museum from 5-6:00 p.m.
